The Tweed Seagulls RLFC are proud to announce that several standout players from our Mal Meninga Cup and Harvey Norman U19 squads have earned selection for the prestigious U19 Queensland & New South Wales State of Origin teams. These selections are a testament to the dedication, talent, and hard work of our young athletes, as well as the strength of our development pathways.
The representative matches are scheduled to take place on Thursday, 19th June at Sunshine Coast Stadium, with both the women’s and men’s clashes set to showcase the next generation of elite rugby league talent.
In the women’s team, we are thrilled to see Phoenix-Raine Hippi and Kiara Wright named in the squad. Both players have demonstrated exceptional form throughout the season and will be looking to make a strong impact when the match kicks off at 5:45pm.
Meanwhile, the Queensland men’s team will feature an impressive six Tweed Seagulls players: Sam Stephenson, Javon Andrews, Bodhi Sharpley, Sunny Kama, Cooper Bai, and Ray Puru. On the other side of the border, Zane Harrison has been selected for the New South Wales team. Their game is set to commence at 7:45pm, and all seven players will no doubt bring pride to the club as they don the maroon and blue jersey’s.
The Tweed Seagulls extend their congratulations to all selected players and their families. We look forward to seeing them represent Queensland with distinction and continue their development at the highest level of rugby league.
